Record you won't want to brake
8o/c Sat morning started 1000km race at SUZUKA . 3hrs 32min into race, leading with 2nd car never more than 20 sec behined me.i have to pitt every 12 lapps for tyers ,so cut fuel back to what i need for 12 lapps. Then it happened ,it started bucketing down with rain and i am due for a tyer change .
Im aprouching the hairpin at the back of the track ,the 2nd place car is there with me and pushes me
into the kitty litter. By the time i get to the pit's and put wet's on and get back in the race I've been lapped.Lesson #1 don't use Maclaren Stealth it burns up tyers. At that point it was lunch time so after
3hrs 32mins I quit the race . BUT WAIT THERE"S MORE. Don't stop reading the best is yet to come.
After lunch went and payed 950.000 for a proper race car Nisson #23 .Put all race tyers in menu did oil change , did some testing on track ,stretched the gearbox . Had dinner a dark beer ,then back into the
1000km race . This time got good weather start ,which was nice to see. Took the lead on lapp 2 and only pitted after the 2nd car had been in the pitts.By the end of the race the only car i had not lapped was the
one that kept me on my toes . When the race was over got good payout . Then they gifted me #23 bas****
The time when i looked was 1o/c Sunday morning . ( IT HAD TAKEN ME 17 hours)

Well done old fella I thought you never had the patience .....but alas I was totally wrong. So they gifted you the same car that you spent your well hard earned on? Sell the gifted car back to them you should at least get 300 000 back. What was the payout at the end of the race?

Yeah, as much as I'd like to do all the races, got a feeling I'll be missing the enduro's unless they patch it so we can save our progress.
You're a legend Rinkles, at least you have a second car in case the first is in getting repairs!!

Re: Record you won't want to brake
Well done Rinkly.
When I was talking to my son the other day I suggested when I come over in March for the Clipsal if he wanted to do the 24 hr enduro, we could take it in turns doing perhaps 3 hour shifts the whole way through. He sounded quite keen.
What have I got myself in for.

Well rinkly you have already proved yourself in enduro's, and I know how much you like and how well you know Norschedliiiiiiiiife (however it's spelt), so your more than welcome to join in as a 3rd driver.
What area Adelaide you in? Looking at Newton way for us (bus straight down Payneham Rd - free with clipsal tickets - and we are at the track).
Other question is will the Mrs's give you a leave pass?

Re: Record you won't want to brake
Well now i know 24hr Le Manns means 24HOURS...
After trying the Audi T10 but could'nt keep up i bought the trusted
Peugeot 908 did an oil change and turbo upgrade, this looked ok on
track but was needing to pit after 7 lapps for tyre ware. But then the rain came, this gave me a chance to get back the lead ,i guess the AI's don't
like the wet. Then the Sun went down which starts the night drive stint.
As a retired Pro driver this is my time of day, just luv night driving. After
9 and a half hours in the dark (the AI's don't like the dark either) I was
6 lapps up on the rest of the cars.Tired but happy for the buffer zone,
because the AI's could be in there cumfort zone when the Sun came up.
Lucky for me i managed to keep them behind so at the end of 24hrs
AI's had beaten them by 4 lapp's.
