Some news on next update from GTPlanet through the GT Academy carry on over there in the USA.

Can someone help me out I understand the update, but what is this GT acedemy they are all talking about?

From what I've read, the update will bring more consistent penalties for cutting corners on some or all tracks. Monza for example, you can cut every chicane on the track and not get a short-cut penalty for it. Wall-riding is being looked at too.

GT Academy is a public Time Trial that they run. Basically, you register, each week they put out a track and car (maybe.. not sure) and you give it your best shot. Lots of people have been exploiting the poor penalty system in GT5, that why they've cancelled a couple of races and changed tracks... Hence the update.

The update was worth it. They are slowly refining the game and streamlining things. They are listening and making the game more user friendly. Plus a new seasonal event with cheap credits.

Arkon, we now can use your track (and other created tracks) online as far as I understand. We will try that on Monday night as well.

I just like that they finally have it set up that I know what cars I own. I have about 5 double ups due to my laziness to double check before buying a car.

From what I've read, you can only use created tracks that were made after the update was released.

Maybe go into the editor and change one tiny little thing and save it again???

The ability to borrow friends cars is pretty cool, rather than gifting them and waiting for them to come back.

Good idea Stumbles, I will give that a try over the weekend and see if it works

Bummer my house is in a dissarray and I can't get anywhere near my PS3 ATM if I have some quiet time tonight and I am not too buggered I will give it a try.

PS: I have said this before but I am never ever moving again.

have tried 5 times to update my game , get 80% then error message
saying switch off and try again, but it happens every time.
any help would be good. Sounds like your not happy either Paul i always
think its a good time to get rid of anything you find you haven't used for
12 months dump it. Works for me

Hey Rinkly, how long is it taking to get to 80%.
My download and install only took about 7 mins total.

Not sure what could be causing it to fail. I wonder if there's an update you can download to your computer from Polyphony's website and then transfer to usb and load it that way???

it takes 15 min. will try your idea if i can find that web site and work out how to do the usb thing

I just tried to find it, the official site doesn't have it for d/l. Just says your game will d/l it automatically.

Well, looks like no more sharing of really expensive cars. Thanks to patch 1.07, cars of greater value than $1 Milion can no longer be gifted.

One good thing from the latest patches, you now have the ability to view friends leaderboards on Time Trial. Time to do some TT's, I haven't bothered at all with them up to now, what's the point of comparing against yourself.

Ok, PD have re-opened the ability to send expensive cars, so people who lost cars through trading can get them back. It's not for long though, March 3rd and it will all be off again.

We should be able to send whatever cars we want we paid real $$$ for their game and its only in game CRs FFS!!!! End rant, it is after all Sunday morning.

Yeah have my F1's back at home. You can only send one car per PS3 now as well. So if you have a multiple accounts you will only be able to gift 1 car per day. Bit annoying, but not as annoying as not being able to gift cars over the 1M mark. Can you tune someone's shared car??

Anon can you please put your F1 in the share until the 3rd i wanna another go at the seasonals.

Yep, no worries. I will put the 2007 up for sharing, can you adjust the tune?? Might just ramp up the aero and dull off the LSD a little in any case.

Yeah, it's possible to do that again Fiddle, but only until the 3rd of March. Then it's capped at $1 Million for ever.
