The DTM World Tour Series
The DTM World Tour
In short, 6 Rounds at real world tracks in DTM cars. There are a choice of 6 cars, and there will be 5 teams. The teams/cars are:
Audi Abt TT-R Touring Car ’02
Audi A4 Touring Car ’04
BMW M3 GTR Race Car ’91
Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car ’00
Vauxhall/Opel Astra ’00
I am hoping to get at least 2 in each team, but would like 3 and we may have 2 rooms depending on how many guys sign up. You can sign up as a team, or sign up and you will be assigned a team-mate. I reserve the right to reassign team-mate's if we get 2 rooms or if I just want to.
We will race on Monday nights starting 10th of October. 9pm kick off.
Rules:
I would like to experiment will some rules that others have used with these cars, but, don't get me wrong, this will be a fun series - so if the rules are stifling competition they will be canned.
Max Power 473bhp
Min wt 1120kg
1 compulsory pitstop (there will be no specified pit window) and 2 tyre compounds (softs and mediums) are to be used during the race. No mixing of tyre compounds allowed (ie front soft, rear medium).
Weight handicaps will be trialled, ie a penalty weight will be added to cars depending on their positions in the previous races. So:
Cars which finish in the top three are awarded penalty weight.
1st +40kg, 2nd +30kg, 3rd +20kg, 4th +10kg
Cars which finish from 5th and under progressively lose any penalty weight they might have accumulated.
5th -10kg, 6th -20kg, 7th -30kg, 8th to last -40kg
The maximum weight that can be carried is 80kg
The points for individuals will be accumulated as per the current system, but more importantly there will be a team/constructors championship. The points for this will be distributed as such:
1st: 15pts, 2nd: 12pts, 3rd: 10pts, 4th: 9pts, 5th: 8pts, 6th: 7pts, 7th: 6pts, 8th: 5pts,
9th: 4pts, 10th: 3pts, 11th: 2pts, 12th: 1pt
So if you come 3rd and your team-mate gets 7th, you have 16 pts towards the team championship.
If you are interested please post below and leave your name and preferred car.
TRACKS:
Round 1: Monza - 21 Laps
Round 2: Nurb GP/F - 19 Laps
Round 3: Suzuka - 29 Laps
Round 4: Daytona - 21 Laps
Round 5: Fuji F - 23 Laps
Round 6: La Sarthe (2009) - 13 Laps

So all the teams will either have 2 or 3 cars? Cause a team with 3 cars against a team with 2 is a bit unfair for the constructors points, lol. Bit of a stupid question I know but i just had to ask. I'm keen though I guess.

Can I suggest informing Anon of your car choice privately via private message... wouldn't wanna see team "stacking"...lol (just a suggestion... you can tell me to shut-up if ya want...lmao).

Yeah, it kinda depends on how many we get. Say there are 15 blokes then we'll do 5 teams of 3. If it is 16, we might consider 2 rooms with 4 teams of 2 in each. I would like to get 2 rooms, but we really need 20 drivers to account for drop outs and NAT and other issues. I'm gonna aim for 15 people for the time being and we'll see how we go. Knowing my luck we'll get 13!!!! You'll be on your own team then Chev!!

Yeah, PM's might be the way to go. Although, I am planning on trying to keep teams as even as possible, plus there is always the handicap system.

Re: The DTM World Tour Series
Maybe base the teams on the mini results table or ROOZ divisions? If I can convince my mate to take part id like to be teammates with him. He is pretty new to the game, so i'll have to train him up a bit. You think that might be ok Anon? Also, if you have 2 rooms that will be 2 seperate championships right?

Yeah, I'd really like to put together drivers of different abilities. If your mate is keen, get him on board. And yes 2 rooms would mean 2 championships.

Re: The DTM World Tour Series
Yer i'd wait till the update, can you put up the names of the drivers you have so far so i can see if there is anyone i know not on the list, Aussie man, Nugget, inforcer, neishy etc and i can get them to contact you asap.
Just an idea, in a leage we used to run with the usa guys, we had a few rooms going for the one championship. Qualifying was done the night before and you were put into the race according to your qualifying time. Qualifying room ran for an hour and you just poped in and did your out lap and hot lap to qualify. Bit of work for admin when doing it for 30 plus drivers but we spread it over three rooms. The race points system then just ran down the finishing order of all the divisions like it was one big race, this would work well for you teams event I feel, but would have to even up the teams a bit. This is how it works:
Qualifying: track set for 3 laps, 4 drivers enter the track, driver 1 takes of at the bell and driver2 15 seconds later and 3 goes on the 30second mark and 4 on the 45 second mark. You have an out lap them a flying lap, you then pull over until the others Finnish their flying lap. Times are recorded from the spectator screen and your done , next 4 join and so on. It can be done on the same night as race if you are only dealing with 16 to 20 drivers, 16 drivers is less than 12 laps of racing 20 is less than15 laps. It is a bit of work to sort and get people into the right rooms but manageable.

Re: The DTM World Tour Series
Yeah well I'm thinking it may be best to postpone for a week, get the update on board and go from there. I've got a big weekend coming up and wouldn't mind a bit more time to get this put together, teams and so forth (and to re-read a few times Bonus' post?!!?) - I'm not a maths major champ!!
So far we have:
Chev
Bonus
Stumbles
Aza
Darko
Neishy
Anon
Keggs
Chev's mate
