Re: Series Info
Hmm, wonder what a mini looks like dressed in gold chrome... And is it worth it ( I've only got 1 of them).
I'll look throughmy paints and see what's what.

Re: Series Info
Ok, I have been playing around today (despite believing there is nothing wrong with my connection) to try and see if I can get rid of me only being able to see a quarter to half the field only.
I have found if other clients in the house connect wirelessly to the router when I connect the PS3 (always connected by cable not wireless) and do a connection test, I get a type 2, will not show me a download and upload speed, and also a message saying that my "router may not support IP fragments, blah blah blah".
If i disconnect the other household clients (which I always do before racing anyway), and hit the apply button on the port forwarding screen, then re-turn on the PS3 and do the connection test, it comes up type 2, shows me my download and upload speeds, and NO message about supporting ip fragments.
Why I need to reapply port forwarding settings each session after other clients connecting to the router I do not know.
So here is hoping that this has fixed my problems and that on Monday night I have no problems seeing you all whilst racing and if I can still only see a quarter to half the field then I think I will be dropping from the series and going back to Forza 3, would prefer to stay with GT5 but all these connection issues have just got to the point of not worth the effort, plus not much fun only seeing a partial field, which obviously causes me to get in other peoples way as well.

Fingers crossed Arckon. I'm in the habit now of turning off my firewall's, double checking IP addresses, clearing the in-game cache, etc, etc, before a race night. Still hasn't prevented me from being booted on the odd occasion.
Again, fingers crossed for Monday night!!

Must admit have never cleared the cache, will do that tommorrow.
Turning off the firewalls? does that include the firewall built in to your router through the router browser page?

Re: Series Info
Hey Arcon have you set a static IP address on your ps3, or set to auto? It sounds like the other devices are trying to use the same IP address. I have set the ports the ps 3 uses to port forward through the router and just let the ps3 set the port it uses automatically. but if you have any other devices set with a specific ip address make sure it is a higher number, the ps3 will set a low number and look for any other devices that are set to auto and not pick that one but won’t see any addresses you set to static IP and could accidently pick that one and cause connection issues.
I have no set ip addresses and just port forwarded the ps3's, look up port forwarding ps3.

Thanks for the advice bonus, but yeah have always had the PS3 set up with a static ip much higher than other devices use. The Xbox is set up with a slightly higher static ip address and set up through the DMZ.
Checked again this morning and yep had to reapply the port forwarding, very wierd, but hey it is only a button press in the browser so if this successfully gets me up and running properly then so be it.

Re: Series Info
So now my PS3 has shit itself. When I turn it on it does its usual boot up and then I have a screen with no menus on it and I can't turn it off by the switch, I have to pull the plug out from the wall. Done this 3 times and get the same result everytime. This is not normal. Anyone know what is happening?

Re: Series Info
Crap news Whacked. You've got the luck of the Irish. I've had my PS3 for around 4 years and it's never skipped a beat. I've dodged the YLOD and the ApolyPS3...although it's bound to die now I've said that!
For those interested, I've popped the results up [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
