Re: Series Info
How you shutting it down? I know of people in the past turning there ps3 of at the swithch at the back to soon after shutting down and cooking the chip. since GT5 and F1 came out i allways leave my ps3 to cool down after a race session before shutting down. I quit game then shut down is set to auto . The high def games really put the heat into the chip, especially on the old fat boys like mine, that ive had for 4 years now (no probs touch wood). The fan runs on high for a long time after a big GT5 sessionPaul wrote:So now my PS3 has shit itself. When I turn it on it does its usual boot up and then I have a screen with no menus on it and I can't turn it off by the switch, I have to pull the plug out from the wall. Done this 3 times and get the same result everytime. This is not normal. Anyone know what is happening?

My PS3 is only 1 year old I normally shut it down by hitting the PS3 button on the controller after quitting the game. Am I going to be able to have all my saved GT5 after I get it fixed if I can?

Re: Series Info
Should be fine, unless the HDD is absolutely ruined, which you would think is unlikely. I removed my original HDD and put in a much bigger one soon after I bought it, so if they needed to replace the unit you should be able to swap in the HDD from the dodgy one. Mind you, I'm not an IT or electronics wiz. Flat out setting the time on my watch, but I reckon you should be good Whacked.

Hey Paul. Did you have any luck with your PS3???
Found this today....

Sounds like you need to try the "3. Restore File System" bit.
I didn't know the PS3 had a recovery menu, gives you a few options to fix things, restore corrupted files, sorta give it a de-frag as well.

Re: Series Info
Hey Fellas, any chance I can get one of my mates to join us in the mini series? I know we are at round 2 and it would have been ideal for him to start at the begining, but he is fairly new to GT5 and wants to race with some likeminded people in equal cars and whatnot. If he could start with us tonight that would be fantastic. His name is mystline223.

Re: Series Info
Ohhhh well!!! Seems like I got all excited for nothing.
I have tried options 1,2,3 and 4 and it keeps telling me the HD is corrupted, when I press the ok button it does the usual countdown and gets to 100% shuts down and I get the same message again and again. Looks like I am going to have to try option 5 and lose all my files. Guess I won't be joining in the Mini madness tonight. Have fun!!!!

Re: Series Info
Thought I finally had everything sorted after last week and only not able to see a couple of people.
I suppose my connection is not fast enough to cope with much more than 7 or 8 cars.
After I was disconnected both time I quit out of GT5 went to the network setting under XMB and ran a test. Was coming up type 2 6+gig download and 800+kb upload I know not the fastest.. Strange that this is the only game I have problems with though. Dirt 3 (with americans and europeans) no probs, forza 3 on xbox ; no probs, Tiger Woods no probs and my son plays Black Ops on xbox and Killzone 2 on PS3 no problems.
I am thinking the network code for GT5 is going a long way towards being the culprit or my connection simply not fast enough for the amount of cars it supports.
Any ways will drop from the series completely as much to stop messing you guys around as to stop my annoynance that this is beginning to cause.
Ehjoy the series guys, will have to rely on Anon's replays to keep me up to speed on how the series is going.

Will send you a mini later on tonight, and a few other specials over the next few days. Let us know if you're after anything in particular.
To those I owe tickets to, you'll have to wait till the weekend.
