top gear special events
YES YES YES YES YES!!!!! finally got gold in the lotus top gear challenge, OMG that was so freakin hard. i did cheat a bit
some tips for those who havn't done it yet, dont always be right behind the cars, they brake too early, so if you brake later and a bit harder you will pass them. dont hit the solid orange cones, instant dnf, you can hit the orange and white ones. you CAN cut hammerhead a tiny bit, if you outbrake yourself, there are 3 solid orange cones just before you turn right, cut to the right of that, but make sure you get in line as half way around the corner there are more solid orange cones, go to the left of that and you will gain a position, albeit have a slower exit speed.
exit of the first corner on the first lap (once you have over taken the white car in 11th position), dont be right behind the car in front. hold back a bit, there will be a gap you can charge through at 100kp/h or more at the next corner, and easily gain 3 positions. take the next corner tight, follow the line painted on the road (not the racing blue/red one), it is a faster way round the corner. dont hit cars at more than 100kp/h though, or its an instant dnf. however, you can hit them below 100kp/h and you will be fine.

What... Took you long enough.
I thought I posted it in here somewhere...
Easiest way to do it, turn TC off and skid recovery on. The Elise handles like crap on that track, I think they put wooden tyres on it.. no grip.

just watched that video Stumbles, skid recovery is so hacky its not funny, you should have spun out so many times. now be a man and do it with no assists

Re: top gear special events
Tried it last night. That car sucks under braking?? Might try the skid recovery assist, cause I was ready to kill someone after 10 minutes of failed attempts.
On a happier note, have finally done the first 2 licences. No super exciting cars unlocked sadly. The 6th challenge in the first licence took me the longest to get for some reason.
Hey Mcrow, I happened upon a monaro last night, are you after this one or the other commy??

Yeah Rinkly, you need a facebook account. It's free, just delete all the details after.
Tell you what, I'll set up a fake account, get the codes and send you the car (or codes.. whatever works).

Re: top gear special events
Elise challenge done finally. Only needed a few attempts using skid recovery, thanks for the tip on that Stumbles. Did the final kart races tonight as well. Great fun, sad there weren't more. Wish I had a few more hours up my sleeve to get into licenses & more special events.

Re: top gear special events
PS for those few who haven't done it yet, the 3rd challenge is so easy it's a crime. You're in those VW kupenwhogenfucgun army trucks and as long as you don't crash or run off the course you can tick off a gold.
