New Race Events
It has been a bit quiet around here, so I thought I will suggest a new series. But before I do I would like to see what you guys would like to do. Any requests will be taken into consideration so don't be shy post up. What I want to know is what kind of cars and their BHP, favourite tracks and what nights you want.
Hopefully we can get a few people in the future and have a crack at seeing what 16 people can do in one lobby. I have started a collection of cars in the last few weeks so there are going to be prizes for winners, and we know winners are grinners. So come on put your thinking caps on and let us know what you would like.
My first suggestion is a 400 - 500 BHP Hot hatch series and/or a NASCAR series.
Waiting patiently for your ideas, and I know there are some good ideas out ther so lets get this forum up and running.

Re: New Race Events
Mcrow I thought the same thing with Nascars but when GT5 first come out me, Stu, Rinkly and Sleuth had some fun in them and surprisingly they wern't that boring. I can just imagine 8 or more people running them quite fun.
OK so you like power 500+BHP. What kind of cars did you have in mind or just set a BHP and go for it? How about European vs Japanese? I kinda like the idea of selecting a few cars roughly all similar and letting people choose from them. Maybe we need some testing to be done to see what cars fall in the same catergory. I want everyone who enters these comps to think that they have a chance of winning instead of the same old people winning.

V8's ftw!! 500+Hp v8's would kick arse.
maybe limit it to European models? seeing as we had the American muscle cars earlier.

Understand your thinking but the cream will always rise to the top, the only way I think to achieve that is with some very harsh restrictions, which then makes neither fair or fun for those guys.
One possible idea is once we start getting larger fields you can start sorting prizes throughout the field in groups of 4 etc.
Have mystery prizes that no one is aware of at the beginning of the season eg: field of 16, those in 13th - 16th place mid season recieve prize if they can break into the next quarter of the field 12th - 9th by end of season.
Prize for fastest lap time in Race 3 based on the placings of 5th - 8th from the previous weeks Race 2.
Keeps everyone interested, avoids sandbagging (for the record I don't believe any of the current members would do so) but am thinking with the future in mind.
Finally I think those who excel like the McCrows and Stumbles etc deserve the bigger prizes.

Happy to contribute prize cars for this series Whacked. As mentioned last night the seasonal events have boosted my economy quite nicely. Could do prizes for the whole field really, the higher places get the more expensive cars.

Re: New Race Events
I have also got more than a handful of cars to throw into the prize kitty.
Some are nicely tuned from many of the tuning garages out there on other forums.

Bantom Weight Cup - I would like to run it over a few Sundays, when daylight savings is finished. W/p finishes this week, and I want to keep an event going on a Sunday. Starting around 8pm AEST, 2nd of April.
Event 1:
Race 1. Fiat 500F '68 (prize car for B-Spec Euro Classic car championship in the beginner series). Suzuka East, 10 laps.
Race 2. Marcos Mini Marcos '70 (prize car for B-Spec Mini Challenge in the professional series). Madrid Mini, 10 laps.
Race 3. Midget II D Type '98 (prize car for A/B-Spec Sport Truck Challenge, amature series). Autumn ring mini, 10 laps.
All cars are limited to sports soft tyres. Trust me, any more than that is a waste of Cr.
I have maxed out each of these cars, and they are a hoot, esp the midget. Low weight and power to begin with and move up from there. If you're watching your budget and want to jump in, I can send some around.
C'mon a 525kg midget with 110+bhp under the bonnet...you know you want some!

Re: New Race Events
Be doing some testing tonight for those interested. Would like to use the Eiffel track, but it's a bit random as to how it comes out. Sometimes with complexity at 10, it is still 4 straight lines?? Then the next time it's worse than the ring.

Did some testing last night. The midget is almost uncontrollable, the fiat sounds awesome, and Stu has a ridiculous combi van!?!?!?

Re: New Race Events
Discovered last night, there is '65 and '68 version. Don't care, they are pretty much equal. The one I had in mind is the one you win in b-spec, but whichever really. If a few people can get a car built tonight, I would love to do some laps after the races tomoz. Will only take 10 min's and will only need a few people for those who need sleep. Thinking of doing a little vid. Got a replay saved of the Fiat in action, but would love one of the midgets.

Re: New Race Events
No, mine is a '65 as well. But Fiddles had got his hands on a '68. Got about 5bhp more or something, and a few kilo's less. In the Fiat's, it's all about not getting too slow or spinning out, cause it takes an eternity to get going again.
